TAP: Tuition Assistance Program

Catholic Education is Affordable to Everyone

By the grace of God, and with the support of our Saint John Parish and the community of Logan, Saint John School has offered our county a faith-based, quality, educational program for over 91 years. We value all members of our school community who have helped create such a rich and successful history for our school.

Many families have never considered sending their children to Saint John School because they think they could not afford the tuition. There are resources available to help cover student tuition: the Diocesan tuition assistance program, our own parish Tuition Assistance Program (T.A.P.), and EdChoice.

Thanks to our many generous parishioners through your monthly envelope contributions and charitable donations to T.A.P. we are able to provide a quality education to our students at a very affordable cost. The school staff is very conscious of the parish’s generosity and we work hard to be good stewards of the funds we receive.

The process to apply for tuition assistance begins with your family completing the FACT application found online. FACTS is a company that simply processes grant requests for the Diocese of Columbus. No one at the Diocesan Office or Saint John is able to view your application. All applications are due in mid-March. Families of all faiths may apply through FACTS. Through the FACTS system, the school principal receives a list of names of all grant applicants from our school. (No additional information is shared, only the names of applicants.)

The principal will contact all FACTS applicants and encourage them to apply for a parish grant. During the month of June, Fr. Ferguson and the principal will meet with each family interested in obtaining a parish grant. All information is kept strictly confidential!

The EdChoice Expansion Scholarship is available to any student entering kindergarten, first or second grade whose family household income is at or below 200 percent of the Federal Poverty Guidelines. The EdChoice Scholarship request form, scholarship renewal form, and income verification form are available on the EdChoice Website. We also have the forms in the school office. We will be more than happy to assist you with any of these forms.

There are occasional opportunities throughout the year for families to earn funds that are credited to your tuition account. One of those events is participation in the Family Yard Sale. Another is through our SCRIP fundraiser.

We are very proud of the high quality, faith-based educational program at Saint John School and we appreciate the sacrifices made by our school family that allow our students to enjoy this experience. Our school parents and grandparents offer support for their children and make financial sacrifices to provide these educational opportunities for them. Our faithful parishioners, alumni, and supporters give so generously to continue the tradition of Saint John School. Our Pastor, staff members, and many volunteers work tirelessly to ensure that the children in their care are provided with a loving, faith-filled, and challenging education.

It is our sincere hope that Saint John School will continue to touch the lives of students, families, and community members for the next 90 years and beyond. We thank you for your continued support and prayers, and we look forward to another successful year!
